SPANA is the charity for the world’s working animals, caring for horses, donkeys and other animals in some of the world’s poorest countries.
They needed a simple, powerful leaflet to introduce their work and motivate people to make a donation.
To show the impact of Spana’s work, I wrote about the donkeys who are put to work on the rubbish dumps of Bamako, Mali. Every day the anmals walk over broken glass and twisted metal as they carry huge loads, for many hours a day and in extreme heat. They often catch tetanus from infected rubbish, which can lead to an agonising death.
SPANA vets work in over 30 countries around the world providing free tetanus vacinations and other medical care to working animals such as as donkeys, horses and camels.
